Abstract

The results of studies of ferroalloy production from Kazakh bauxites of the Ayusay deposit presented in the article. In the process of thermodynamic modeling study the HSC-6.0 Chemistry software package based on the principle of minimization of Gibbs energy was used. Formation of ferrosilicon of the FeSi25 brand is observed in the temperature range of 1700 - 18000C and the amount of iron of 26%, 36%. Ferrosilicon of the FeSi25 brand is formed at temperatures of 1700-18000C and the content of 26% iron in the charge, while the concentration of metals in the alloy is 26.2-27.9% Si, 0.2-1.4% Al. It was found that at the content of 36% iron and 1700-18000C the grade ferrosilicon (FeSi25) is formed, with the concentration in the alloy of silicon from 22.3 to 23.7%; aluminum from 0.2 to 1.1%. It has been established that with an increase in the amount of iron in the batch of 16 - 36%, the degree of transition of silicon and aluminum into the ferroalloy increases, so Si up to 93.7%, and Al up to 47.3%. Based on the material balance from 100 kg of bauxite, it is possible to obtain 61.2 kg of grade ferrosilicon.
