Publishing Ethics

1. General Provisions

1.1. Publication ethics is a set of generally known and recognized principles, norms, and rules that participants in the publication process (author(s), reviewers, editors, publishers) must adhere to, regulating their relationships.
1.2. The publication ethics of a scientific journal (hereinafter referred to as publication ethics) is based on international standards developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1.3. The scope of publication ethics includes:

  • Preparation and submission of scientific articles by the author(s);
  • Interaction between the author(s) and reviewers;
  • Interaction between authors;
  • Interaction between the author(s) and the journal's Editorial Board;
  • Author(s) rights;
  • Relationships between publishers and readers;
  • Conflict situations among publication participants.
    1.4. Compliance with publication ethics is ensured by the Editorial Board and the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
    1.5. The highest authority overseeing compliance with publication ethics at all stages of article preparation and publication is the Editorial Board, led by its Chair.

2. Publication Ethics for Authors

2.1. An article may be prepared and submitted for publication by one or more authors (co-authors).
2.2. The author(s) submit the article, formatted according to the "Auezov University" journal's publication guidelines, to the journal's Editorial Board via the email address provided on the journal's website.
2.3. The article must include complete author(s) affiliation details: academic degree, title, position, full name of the organization, postal address, country name, and email address.
2.4. The submitted article must contain:

  • New, original scientific results obtained by the author(s);
  • True, reliable, theoretically and empirically justified, logically consistent, and clearly presented information;
  • Bibliographic references (to authors and sources) when citing or using ideas from other researchers;
  • References to previously published works by the author(s) if copied verbatim, which can only be used as a foundation for research and new conclusions;
  • Information about sources of any financial support.
    2.5. The submitted article must not contain:
  • False and/or fabricated information;
  • Plagiarism.
    2.6. The submitted article must not have been:
  • Previously published in print or electronic media;
  • Submitted for publication in other print or electronic media.
    2.7. Authors must ensure that all co-authors and project participants who made a significant contribution to the research are acknowledged, and that all co-authors have reviewed the final version of the scientific work and agreed to its publication.
    2.8. By submitting the article for review, the author(s) commit to participating in the process of revising it (editing, correcting deficiencies) within the timeframes established by the Editorial Board.
    2.9. All co-authors of the article must review the final version of the scientific work and provide written consent for its publication.

3. Publication Ethics for the Editorial Board

3.1. The Editorial Board must:

  • Notify the author(s) in writing, via email, of the receipt, registration, and acceptance of the article for review;
  • Make a decision based on reviews and compliance checks regarding the acceptance or rejection of the article for publication;
  • Inform the author(s) in writing about the Editorial Board’s decision to accept or reject the article (with reasons provided);
  • Provide the author(s) with access to the review(s) upon request;
  • Send the article to the author(s) for revision based on reviewers’ comments;
  • Store scanned copies of original reviews and official documents in accordance with Kazakhstan's legislation;
  • Send the corrected article for editing;
  • Send the edited article to the author(s) to address the editor’s remarks;
  • Publish articles in the journal, generally in the order they are received;
  • Inform the author in writing about the publication of their article.
    3.2. The Editorial Board ensures:
  • The protection of copyright;
  • Compliance with the established timeframes for all stages of article preparation and publication;
  • Interaction among all participants in the publication process (author(s), editor, translator).
    3.3. The Editorial Board has the final authority to decide on the publication or rejection of an article.
    3.4. The Editorial Board:
  • Considers every report of publication ethics violations, regardless of when it is received;
  • If publication ethics violations are confirmed, publishes either corrections or retractions, along with information about the revision of the article;
  • Reports to the Editorial Board and the Editor-in-Chief on compliance with or violations of publication ethics at all stages of publication.
    3.5. The Editorial Board takes measures to prevent and/or resolve conflicts among publication participants at all stages of the publication process.
